An Early Banker


This is a photo of an outdoor wall mural by artist Todd Tremeer in the town of Bowmanville, 1998. The picture shows some buildings in about 1910 in downtown Bowmanville. The prominent building on the left is a bank which was apparently opened by a man named John Simpson. The building on the right was the post office, at the time.

John Simpson was the adopted son of Charles Bowman who was the founder of Bowmanville. [See "Another Street Sign" below.]
