It seems John Simpson was also a respected politician. The bank he worked for, Ontario Bank, was eventually closed because of some kind of incompetent, if not shady, dealings [not by Simpson]; and it was bought out by another bank--Bank of Montreal.
It's interesting to study about past history, in my opinion! There always seem to be helpful things to learn.
