One of the first signs of spring I've seen in this area were some red branches in a landscaped area and in a nearby marsh. The branches turn a bright red in the spring, until some leaves grow on them. [Am not actually sure whether the branches stay red through the summer?--It's possible they do?] Thought the blue sky, and the lake in the distance, were also a nice contrast with the red!
