This was from my 8th-grade graduation. [Throughout most of elementary school, I attended a Christian school.]

Added on July 18:
Have written in the first blog about issues which led to friendly teasing; and by the time I was 12 years old, I had convinced myself I needed to lose weight! It was the beginning of anorexia nervosa, whether or not it was a clinical problem at the time. [Later it got worse and there wasn't much information available, in those days. It took many years before I got the right treatment--and even then, treatment can be a long process!] My worries about weight and dieting attempts were off and on during my teen years. In the photo above, it was mostly a happy day; and I wasn't worried about too much! We had a nice graduation service and I enjoyed the experience. [My mom paid a neighbour lady who was a professional hairdresser to do my hair; and I appreciated it.]   NOTE, Added on May 5, 2023:  It really wasn't "friendly teasing" considering the person was making negative comments about my weight...and especially when my weight was normal...!  This teasing had continued over several years, whenever the person saw me.
