The Influence of Gays on Society

Considering the special police project extends around the world, we have to take in views from other countries....  There are many people with many ideas....  And some people have been concerned about the influence of gay issues on upcoming generations....  Even in North America, some people have had this concern, in the past....

A man named Colin Cook was one of the founders of the Homosexuals Anonymous program, and he had written a booklet which was published by the It Is Written television ministry several decades ago....  The name of the booklet was "Homosexuality:  An Open Door?"  Am not sure if I've ever written about this booklet in my Waterlily blogs...?  I read this booklet and gave away a number of copies...and I found the booklet strengthened my heterosexuality....  Also, a gentleman who was an intelligent lawyer and politician told me he appreciated receiving the booklet from me....  [I had also given him a few other materials about my business matters.]

It seems that Mr. Cook, himself, has had a lot of problems in his life and hasn't been successful in getting away from homosexuality....  Did his booklet have merit, or was I mistaken?  At any rate, I haven't been able to find any more copies of the booklet in print....  Have asked different sources and nobody seems to know where to get them from?  There was also a book at a Christian book store, which I saw several years ago, about how to raise heterosexual children....  There seem to be definite factors which cause homosexuality and maybe we can help the situation...and the Bible wouldn't call something a sin if it was completely unavoidable...?

Anyway, I believe the LGBTQs deserve to have their freedom....  If there was a nice book or booklet available to help the public, it might help some people feel better...?  And if anybody knows where to get these books from, they could let me know....  [At least Christian people have the Bible, which is open to all....]

Canadian Government Apologizes to LGBTs for Past "Gay Purge"

Yesterday, the Prime Minister of Canada gave a formal apology to the LGBT people who were affected by a so-called "gay purge" campaign from the 1960s to 1990s....  The apology was in reaction to a class-action lawsuit...and $100 M will be set aside for damages and for public education....

LGBT people who were part of the military, the civil service, and the RCMP were investigated during the "gay purge" and were treated badly....  There are reportedly thousands of complainants and some others have died in the meantime....  Some gays were also jailed because of their homosexual activities....  In 1969, Canada passed a law decriminalizing homosexual acts....

Sometimes justice takes a long time to happen and it's too bad...but better late than never.  And I think it's good for Canadians to know that these kinds of problems have happened in our country in the past.  We've made a lot of progress, also....

MJ's Glove and Me--Part 1

It happens that MJ was helping the police over the years with the secret project to help gay people.... I'm not able to give all the details here but I'll tell something....  It has to do with MJ's glove that he wore.

In my final year of high school, I started a long-distance relationship with a boy slightly older than me.  His younger sister went to school in my hometown and she sang in the school choir with me. After a choir performance one evening, I accidentally dropped a pair of gloves to the floor; and a tall, handsome man graciously picked them up and smiled at me....  My boyfriend heard the story form his sister and when I went to visit him the next time, he kept one of my winter mittens without telling me....  I thought I lost the mitten.  But on the following trip, my boyfriend confessed that he took the mitten because he was going to miss me too much...!  These stories were all told to the police, at the time, without my knowledge....

Have heard that men are often turned on if they think a woman is gay or bi-sexual....  It seems that MJ's police friends had been led to believe I was gay/bi-sexual and they told MJ.  There are two other glove stories about MJ which I read on the Internet and they may have some relevance, but I believe the main thing was that MJ wanted to encourage me by wearing the glove....  The police had thought I was going to "come out" in public and that it'd be a help to a lot of people....  And that's what MJ thought.... He also knew I was helping, or was going to help the police with their gay project....

Continued in post below.

MJ's Glove and Me--Part 2

Continued from post above.

In the "We Are The World" performance and video, 1985, MJ made a great effort to dress up and impress somebody....  He also seemed turned on...!?  And he also wrote a song with Paul Anka in 1983, which I believe had something to do with me....  The song was This Is It...and I believe MJ's This Is It concert was directly or indirectly related.

MJ was mistaken about my sexual orientation but it was very sweet of him to think of me....  I didn't know exactly what he was thinking until recently.  And I had often looked to his glove for inspiration in the secret police project....  The first man who picked up my gloves had wanted to support the police and to use the glove story--after he heard about what happened with my boyfriend....  There were also two movies where gloves were relevant:  Brother From Another Planet, 1984, and The World According to Garp, 1982.  (The gloves were minor details in the films but I believe they were significant.)

The false gay story about me has sometimes been a nuisance but I appreciate MJ's efforts....  I believe he also wanted to help the police and gay people....  I'm not a superstar like MJ but I believe he lifted me and the police project to a higher level....

My Views on Michael Jackson

Have been writing a little about Michael Jackson in my Waterlily Story blogs since 2009....  Some people are too young or too old to know much about him....  And there are Christian people who believe in only Christian entertainment...but there are religious people who see entertainment as part of life and they don't mind secular entertainment.  Myself, I'm somewhere in the middle, and I understand and accept that people can be religious and also participate in or produce secular entertainment.  [This blog post isn't intended to be a detailed editorial on the merits of Christian entertainment....]

As far as "MJ" goes, he was raised by a religious mother but his father wasn't religious and he was the one who pushed MJ to take lessons and go into music from an early age....  MJ had no choice in the matter, at the time, but he was very talented.  So, MJ grew up to be a secular entertainer but he also held some strong religious and charitable beliefs and values....  MJ is known for philanthropic work and for visiting children in hospitals....

Because of MJ's early musical training, which was very intense, he felt he missed out on his childhood--he didn't have much time to play with other children--and he was at times very lonely in his personal life....  He was accused of sexual abuse but the complaints were eventually shown to be false.  Some people didn't like him and they called him Wacko-Jacko.

When MJ died in 2009, the Internet crashed because of so many people making inquiries about him; and it was estimated he had around one billion fans around the world....  He had a long career spanning many decades and I also saw him on television when he and I were both children....

My work in the secret police project is something I believe in.  I believe the LGBTQ people have needed help in different ways [and this blog post also isn't intended to be a detailed analysis of the kind of help they've been getting].  If some people can get past their homophobia, then they can start to examine and understand the other issues better.  My opinion is that if there was a person of influence who wanted to help the police, I'd certainly welcome and accept their support.  It's desirable for the cause to be made known....  And the more people who know, the better.

Will write some more separately about MJ.

Are You Homophobic???

If anyone doesn't know what homophobia is, I recommend for them to look it up in their dictionary--or in two or three dictionaries...!  Homophobia is not a nice word in our society these days.  Some Christians may say they don't care what society thinks and they only want to consider that God says the practise of homosexuality is a sin....

In my opinion, it's fine to have a religious view about homosexuality.  But then Christians are obliged to understand and practise the whole Bible concept of sin.... God is not a harsh judge but He's kind, forgiving, and merciful [until the final Judgment Day]....  There's two sides to the story...!

If a Christian doesn't want to be homophobic, he/she shouldn't make derogatory remarks about gays or about their sexual behaviour....  It's not necessary to comment and pass judgment....

It's not my intention to debate gay marriage in this post but I've heard some very skeptical comments from some people.  Not all gays want to get married, but some people can't imagine that some gays have an emotional capacity and a desire to commit to one partner and share a home together....  Some Christians have been so hateful and resentful that they didn't want to allow gays to have their ambitions.  I believe we need to accept people--even gays--where they're at and we don't need to scoff at them...especially when it must be better for gays to have one partner than to run around with many partners....

"Live and let live."  We can have our views in the church--with kindness and intelligence.  And the Bible says we shouldn't judge others.--We certainly don't need to make nasty comments and negative put-downs....

Where's Their Mercy?--Part 2

One group of Christians who I'd have sympathy for are the professional photographers who are asked to take on gay weddings....  These people would be right in the middle of the festivities, for a period of time....  Myself, I can't say I'd never do that but I wouldn't want to do it often....  I think photographers could offer some kind of well wishes and give an explanation and apology for not participating...?  If the situation was reversed, would an opposite-sex couple want to have a gay photographer for their wedding?  It'd be hard to capture the best moments if the photographer was squeamish about them...!?  Right?

A Christian lawyer on a satellite TV program said gay couples in the USA are deliberately seeking out Christian businesses and asking for their services for gay weddings....  The gays are trying to provoke a reaction and they want the Christians to think about things, it seems....  And so far, the conservative Christians are still resisting....  In my opinion, I think Christians can approve of gay weddings up to the point of being happy that these gays aren't running around with numerous, sexual partners....  And these gays are trying to take their relationships seriously and to practise a certain amount of love and commitment.... They're not being frivolous, notwithstanding that they're with same-sex partners....  And if Christians can't give any approval, maybe they could give their "permission," which I believe is important....

If Christians refuse to accept gay marriage, doesn't it mean they'd rather force gays to be celibate all their lives or cause them to run around in secretive relationships...???  Does God want to force any of us to obey?  Isn't it preferable to give people their freedom, when they're not causing direct harm to anyone else???  If two gays consent to marry each other, they're not causing harm to anyone....  Some people don't want to even observe two gays together...but there've been books written to reinforce our heterosexuality....  [It's not always easy to find these books but they're out there....]  At any rate, I believe God wants to give us all a choice...and we have to give gays a choice, whether we agree with them or not....
