Expansion of Religious Exemptions, or not

Have learned people in a number of states in the USA have wanted to expand the religious exemptions in gay marriage to include individuals and businesses who wish to refuse service on grounds of conscience.  There have been steps taken to change the laws but there hasn't been much success.  And in my opinion, I don't think the changes are necessary--even though some sincere people mean well.  I think people should just cooperate in a spirit of charity, if nothing else.  But there still seems to be a lot of ignorance of and prejudice against homosexuality....  As time goes on, I expect views will improve but there will be work to be done in the meantime, also.
